Voted...
...for the crotchety old guy with the bad temper who only claims to be a conservative and the gaffe-prone hockey MILF with zero foreign policy experience...
...as opposed to the job-hopper with zero foreign policy experience who only claims not to be a socialist and the gaffe-prone plagiarist whose umpteen years in the Senate have taught him...nothing, apparently.
Make sure you vote today, as well.

29 pithy observation(s).:
If I ever run for office, you'll be able to vote for crotchety old guy who IS a conservative, although I'm probably more libertarian than true conservative.
Still, as you note, it's important to vote. For or against someone or something.
Did my duty, took the 4 yr old with me so she could learn EARLY how important it is to VOTE! as in the old dude with the bulldog hockey mom!
You know, for a state governor with two foreign countries on her state borders, who has negotiated fishing treaties with foreign nations, who is commander-in-chief or the only National Guard unit who is on permenant activity duty, the same National Guard unit that mans the Anti-ICBM site in Alaska, the only Governor who has a Top Secret clearance and receive regular National Security briefing, that no experience Governor certainly has a lot of experience. More than either of her opponents combined.
Voted for oldfart'n'hockeymom too. Scared of the gathering and sharing planned by the vultures on the other side.
Hey anon! good for you taking the sprog to to the polls this morning. My mom did the same and it impressed the "grownupness" of voting on me big-time and I was so eager way back in *cough*82*cough* to cast my first mid-term ballot. Haven't missed a presidential or mid-term since - except that one time I was in hospital with pneum -- after driving myself to the ED at only 75%.
Duly voted Maverick/Cougar.
screw it. I'm voting for Eisenhower.
-MM
Jean,
Thanks for the compliment-we've taken both "sprogs" to vote with us anytime we can so they are not indifferent to our government!
I voted for the Geezer/Barbie. But I just don't want anybody to take away my pistachios.
I voted for Pedro. He'll make all my dreams come true.
I did not vote for the geezer and Barbie. She scares me to death. As a woman, I don't want to see her 1 death away from being POTUS.
Tell you what Dawn, having "the one" as POTUS scares me more than anything on this planet right now.
I'll never understand US politics...
Have enough trouble trying to work out who I'll vote for in our own elections and I can assure you, the choices are far less appealing than Old fart vs wipper-snapper....
Dawn: As a woman, I'd sure rather see Gov. Palin a heartbeat away...that have 'the one' who could care less about the beating of an unborn baby's heart.
(Apologies to AD...don't intend to turn your comments into a free-for-all.)
Ah, Mrs Who, I am with you. But remember that it's supposedly "anti-woman" to want to protect the unborn. (The inconvenient ones, anyway.) I voted early, & took the Eldest with me.
I have no hope of waking up happy tomorrow, though.
the best man won
We'll see if he's the best man in six months or so - after he faces his international debut. He's the best at speeches, the best at voting "present" in the senate, the best at giving 'hope'. From an unemotional stand point he's statistically "best" at only one thing - voting "present" and not taking a stand on anything. Well, except abortion and spreading your money around. He's pretty clear on those two things.
Taxes, up.
Energy prices, up.
Inflation, up.
Unemployment, up.
Revenue, down.
He's gonna check the budget line-by-line and cut "fat" as he introduces programs.
Problem is, the majority of voters apparently believe that lie.
Remember Jimmah Carter and "the misery index"?
No?
I'm starting a monthly review of the index on my blog. It presently stands at 11%.
Where will it be in a year?
I, too, voted for the geezer and the gal. In the gal's case, against (as far as I can tell) the short term interests of one community of which I am a member in order to look out after the large scale interests of the community of which we are all a part - our nation.
I anticipate a long 4-8 years, with a sensation not unlike that of being nibbled to death by ducks. That I must tolerate Christine Gregoire as well seems a bit much to ask. *sigh*
Voted for the Geezer and Barbie, but woke up to the news I'll be kissing at least half my paycheck and all of my freedoms as I know them goodbye.
Greybeard, you forgot that defense will be down too. How else is he going to help pay for his socialist programs (that other countries have proved DON'T WORK). I'd start that index higher than 11%.
Bah...tried to vote, but a screw up in registration left me out in the rain (literally). MVA really needs to get their heads out of their asses and tell people how to get things done...
Would have voted for the old guy and the hockey mom. Both parties scare me to death, but I'd rather have SOME checks and balances than none (filibuster proof Senate and three-quarters majority House same party as POTUS? ummm...no thanks...)
Is it just me, or is McCain storing kibbles in his cheeks for a long winter?
Respectfully disagreeing...
I voted for the young guy and the windbag, as I am also scared of barbie's politics. If not for barbie, I'd have voted for the old guy.
(Mrs. Who/Sabra, I disagree on the issue of forcing a woman to carry a child in the event of rape. I see that as a 9-month continuation of the assault, rather than an "inconvenience".)
I take offense at calling pregnancy an "assault".
that being said, I don't think govt has any business making that decision for anyone.
oh, and I voted for the geezer, although I was planning on writing in Ron Paul. There was no place to write anyone in though.
I voted for Laura Roslin.
I love you people! Voted for geezer/barbie too and damn proud!
I came here from Crystal's blog and I like you already just from this post alone :)
I voted the young guy. Tho those saying that he his tax increases are going to be astromonical, they are going to be LESS than Ronald Regans. Also, the freedoms that you have are not going to be striped from you. Get over the mass media.
Either president had their faults, but "barbie" was unqualified to be offered the VP position and it showed by her accepting it. She did not/ does not have the knowledge to run this country...and sorry bordering two foreign countries...NEITHER of which she spoke to personally counts as foriegn policy to me. Also, the majority of world was very happy to see Barak elected.
Anonymous, go do your homework. Ronald Reagan CUT taxes, not raise them.
Jeez!
Yeah, I voted for the mature guy-- the one who is actually THOUGHTFUL, who speaks to us as though WE'RE INTELLIGENT ADULTS, who seeks the counsel of wise and experienced people, AND, y'know, actually believes that conversation and discourse accomplish more than bullying and dick-waving.
All politicians sell their souls, it's true, and I always hold my nose when I vote... and I ALWAYS vote. But McCain lost my (considerable) respect for him when he caved on the Bush administration torture policy; given his personal experience, that's pretty damned unforgivable.
